Ryron

Ryron Gracie is a Brazilian-American practitioner of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and an instructor within the Gracie family. He is the son of Rorion Gracie and the brother of Rener Gracie, and a grandson of Helio Gracie, one of the founders of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He began training in BJJ in his youth and later helped establish Gracie University in Torrance, California, an organization that offers in-person classes and an online curriculum for students around the world. The school provides a structured belt system, progressive drilling, and self-defense programs intended for practitioners of all levels.

Alongside his brother Rener, Ryron has produced instructional content and public demonstrations aimed at disseminating Gracie Jiu-Jitsu techniques to a broad audience. The Gracie Breakdown video series, in which the brothers analyze techniques and discuss principles of leverage, timing, and safety, has been a principal channel for education outside the competition circuit. They emphasize fundamentals such as posture, control, and escapes from common positions.

Ryron continues to teach as part of Gracie University, participates in seminars, and contributes to the ongoing dissemination of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu philosophy. His work, together with his family, is part of the broader effort to promote Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as both a sport and a practical self-defense system.
