Runbikeswim
Runbikeswim, also known as the "Ironman" triathlon, is a multi-sport event that consists of three consecutive disciplines: running, cycling, and swimming. The term "runbikeswim" is often used interchangeably with "Ironman" or "Ironman triathlon," although the latter is more commonly recognized. The event is typically held over a full distance of 2.4 miles (3.86 km) of swimming, 112 miles (180 km) of cycling, and 26.2 miles (42.2 km) of running, which is the same distance as a full marathon. The Ironman triathlon was first held in 1978 in Hawaii and has since become one of the most prestigious and well-known endurance events in the world. Participants, known as "Ironmen" or "Ironwomen," compete in various categories, including full distance, 70.3 (half-distance), and sprint distances. The Ironman triathlon is governed by the World Triathlon Corporation and is part of the World Triathlon Series. The event requires a high level of physical fitness, mental toughness, and strategic planning, making it a challenging and rewarding experience for participants.
