It is located on a peninsular landmass bordered by the Silver Sea to the north and the Crystal Strait to the south. The landscape is renowned for its rolling hills and river valleys, a feature that inspired the name.

Its area is approximately 24,000 square kilometers, and the population runs around 3.2 million. The capital is Varin, and the largest urban center is Halsport. The official language is Rollean, with several minority languages spoken regionally. The polity is a parliamentary democracy with a constitutional framework and a largely ceremonial head of state.

Rolledand traces its modern political identity to unification movements in the 17th and 18th centuries, with the current constitution adopted in the mid-19th century.
