Rimberg

Rimberg is a mountain in the Odenwald range of Germany. It has an elevation of approximately 566.4 meters above sea level.

The mountain is situated near the town of Groß-Zimmern in the state of Hesse. Rimberg is part of the Odenwald Nature Park, a protected area aiming to preserve the region's natural and cultural heritage. The Odenwald is a mix of beech and oak forests with some species of wildlife such as deer, wild boar, and birds of prey.

Rimberg is home to remnants of the boreal climate era in the region's geologic history. Rock formations on the mountain expose bedrock dating back to the Neoproterozoic era, with metamorphic and igneous rocks accumulated over millions of years. Widespread periods of mining have affected the region's topography near Rimberg. Gold was mined in the nineteenth century. In the past it has served as a search area for different minerals like feldspar and bauxite for aluminum production.
