Rilmenias is a fictional character from the *Final Fantasy* series, originally introduced in *Final Fantasy X* (2001) as a key antagonist. Created by director Yoshinori Kitase and designed by Tetsuya Nomura, Rilmenias serves as the primary villain of the game’s main story, embodying the destructive power of the sin known as *Ruin*. As a monstrous, humanoid entity, Rilmenias is depicted with a towering, emaciated form, glowing red eyes, and jagged, obsidian-like skin, reflecting its role as a harbinger of chaos and decay.

The character’s origins lie in the sin *Ruin*, one of the five primordial forces that govern the world of Spira in *Final Fantasy X*. Unlike the other sins, which are benevolent or neutral, Ruin is purely destructive, feeding on despair and destruction. Rilmenias is the physical manifestation of this sin, summoned by the sin’s power to wreak havoc upon Spira.
