Ridgi

Ridgi is a fictional town and municipality in the highland region of Veridia. It sits along a limestone ridge that gives the settlement its name, with panoramic views of surrounding valleys. The climate is temperate montane, with cool winters and mild summers. The name Ridgi is derived from the local language word for ridge, reflecting the town's topography.

Ridgi was founded in the late 17th century as a small mining and farming settlement. A regional road and later a narrow-gauge railway helped it grow in the 19th and early 20th centuries. In the postwar era, Ridgi diversified into agriculture, forestry, and light manufacturing, while preserving its hillside heritage.

The town covers a compact area on the crest and slopes of the ridge, with terraced orchards and conifer forests. Principal economic activities include fruit cultivation (apples and pears), small-scale timber processing, and a growing tourism sector centered on hiking, nature tours, and historic architecture.

Ridgi has a population of roughly 3,500 residents in the late 2020s. It is governed by a municipal council within the Veridian Highlands regional framework, with a mayor and four councilors elected every four years.

Notable landmarks include Ridgi Lookout, Ridgi Gorge, and the hilltop Ridgi Church from the 18th century. The town hosts an annual Ridge Festival focusing on crafts, music, and local produce.
