Repetisjonsområdet, often translated as the repetition range or repetition maximum (RM) range, is a concept primarily used in strength training and exercise physiology. It refers to the number of times a specific exercise can be performed consecutively with good form before muscular fatigue sets in. For instance, performing a bench press for 8 repetitions means the lifter reached their 8-repetition maximum for that exercise at that particular time.

The chosen repetition range is a critical variable in programming resistance training, as it directly influences the physiological adaptations that occur. Lower repetition ranges, typically 1-5 RM, are generally associated with increases in maximal strength and power.
