Rendeld is a fictional city-state used in speculative fiction and tabletop role-playing games. It is described as situated on the northern coast of the island chain known as the Ternor Archipelago, with a temperate maritime climate and frequent fog along the shore.

The old town crowns a limestone bluff overlooking Rendeld Bay; the harbor district extends along a natural inlet, while the inland area features terraces and small hills. The city is encircled by a ring of fortified walls dating to the medieval period, with newer districts built after industrial-era growth.

Rendeld traces its origins to a medieval fishing commune that gained autonomy through trade rights. It developed as a mercantile hub connected to inland river routes and sea lanes. In modern fictional history, Rendeld joined a coastal confederation that coordinated defense and economic policy, while preserving local council governance.

Rendeld is governed by a city council and a mayor, with a degree of power distributed through guilds and neighborhood assemblies. The legal code blends customary law with codified regulations. The population is diverse, with communities of fishermen, artisans, and scholars.

The economy centers on fishing, shipbuilding, and river trade, supplemented by markets, inns, and maritime services. The city hosts the Sea Harvest Festival and a yearly trade fair. Rendelian is the common language, with minority languages present.
