Relaistechnik

Relaistechnik refers to the technology and engineering principles involving electrical relays, which are electromechanical or electronic switches used to control circuits. Relays operate by using an electromagnet to mechanically open or close a set of contacts, thereby controlling the flow of electricity in a circuit. They serve as intermediaries between low-power control signals and high-power devices, enabling safe and efficient switching of electrical loads.

Electromechanical relays consist of a coil, an armature, and contacts. When an electrical current passes through the coil, it generates a magnetic field that attracts the armature, closing or opening the contacts. This mechanical action allows the relay to switch currents much larger than the control signal itself.
