Referenzfläche

Referenzfläche, often translated as reference surface or datum surface, is a fundamental concept in metrology and engineering. It is a precisely defined, idealized surface that serves as a basis for measurement and geometric control. In essence, it is a theoretical plane, line, or point to which other features or dimensions are related.

The purpose of a referenzfläche is to establish a common starting point for all subsequent measurements, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
