Redlichiids
Redlichiids are an extinct family of trilobites, a group of marine arthropods that lived from the Cambrian to the Permian periods. They are particularly characteristic of the Early Cambrian and are among the earliest well-known trilobites. Redlichiids are distinguished by their large, often unsegmented, glabella (the central raised area of the head shield) and their long, tapering tail shield (pygidium). Many species also possessed prominent spines, particularly on the head shield and the sides of the body segments.
