Ravinteistus is a term used in Finnish to describe the process or state of nutrient enrichment in an environment, particularly aquatic ecosystems. This enrichment leads to an increase in the availability of nutrients, such as nitrogen and phosphorus, which can stimulate the growth of algae and other aquatic plants. When nutrient levels become excessively high, it can lead to eutrophication, a process where the ecosystem becomes unbalanced.

The primary sources of excess nutrients that contribute to ravinteistus are often anthropogenic. Agricultural runoff, carrying fertilizers and animal waste, is a significant contributor.
