Ravenclaw

Ravenclaw is one of the four houses at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, founded by Rowena Ravenclaw. The house values wit, learning, wisdom, and creativity, prioritizing academic achievement and intellectual curiosity. Its official colors are blue and bronze; its emblem is the eagle, and the house ghost is the Grey Lady. The motto is "Wit beyond measure is man’s greatest treasure." The founder’s artifact is Ravenclaw’s Diadem, a diadem that is said to enhance intelligence; it was stolen by Helena Ravenclaw and later revealed to be a Horcrux created by Tom Riddle.

Ravenclaw's common room and dormitories are located in Ravenclaw Tower, at the uppermost levels of Hogwarts. Access to the common room is gained by entering through a door guarded by a bronze eagle knocker; you must answer a riddle to enter.

Notable members include Luna Lovegood and Cho Chang, and the house has a reputation for producing scholars and inventors in the wizarding world. The Ravenclaw Quidditch team participates in Hogwarts competitions and the house is frequently associated with academic excellence within the school.

Ravenclaw is depicted in J.K. Rowling's series and its adaptations; the Grey Lady serves as its ghost, and Ravenclaw’s Diadem features prominently in the later books as part of the Horcrux storyline.
