Rautaborimagneetit

Rautaborimagneetit refers to a class of permanent magnets composed primarily of iron and boron, often with additional elements like neodymium. These are also known as NdFeB magnets, or rare-earth magnets due to the presence of neodymium. They are characterized by their exceptionally strong magnetic properties, achieving high magnetic flux density and coercivity compared to other types of magnets. This strength makes them ideal for applications where space is limited or high performance is required.

The manufacturing process for rautaborimagneetit typically involves melting the constituent elements, followed by grinding the alloy into a fine powder. This powder is then pressed into a mold under a strong magnetic field to align the magnetic domains, and subsequently sintered to create a solid, dense magnet. Finally, the magnets are often machined to their final shape and size, and may be coated with materials like nickel or zinc to protect them from corrosion.

Due to their high magnetic strength and relatively low cost compared to other rare-earth magnets, rautaborimagneetit have found widespread use in a variety of industries. Common applications include electric motors, particularly in electric vehicles and power tools, hard disk drives, loudspeakers, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines, and various consumer electronics.
