Rasvajäät is a Finnish folk music ensemble that emerged in the mid‑1990s. The group was founded in 1996 in the city of Turku by a small circle of musicians drawn together by a shared enthusiasm for traditional Finnish melodies and improvised arrangements. The original lineup consisted of the singer Kim Kytölä, accordionist Jani Mäkinen, fiddler Heta Liisi, and drummer Teppo Virtanen, with later members adding a trumpet player and a guitarist to broaden the sonic palette.
