Rastko
Rastko is a given name of Slavic origin, most notably associated with Saint Sava. Rastko Nemanjić was the youngest son of the medieval Serbian ruler Stefan Nemanja. Born around 1174, Rastko renounced his princely status and left for Mount Athos, a monastic community in Greece, where he became a monk and later the first Archbishop of the Serbian Orthodox Church. It is in this capacity that he is widely known as Saint Sava, a central figure in Serbian history and religion.
The name Rastko itself is believed to derive from a Slavic word meaning "to grow" or "to
