Rainieria

Rainieria is a genus of extinct birds belonging to the order Pelecaniformes. The fossil remains of Rainieria have been found in North America, primarily in the Eocene epoch deposits of North America. This ancient bird is known from a few fossil specimens, which provide insights into its morphology and potential ecological role.

The genus Rainieria was first described by paleontologist Storrs L. Olson in 1985. The type species, Rainieria antiqua, is based on partial skeletal remains.
