RVT

RVT is an acronym that can refer to several different concepts depending on the context. The two most common usages are as a professional credential for veterinary technicians and as the file extension for Autodesk Revit Building Information Modeling software.

Registered Veterinary Technician: In many countries, an RVT denotes a veterinary technician who has completed an accredited credentialing program, passed a national or regional examination (such as the VTNE in the United States), and gained regulatory registration or licensure. RVTs perform a wide range of clinical duties under the supervision of veterinarians, including nursing care, anesthesia monitoring, diagnostic testing, radiography, dental prophylaxis, and client education. They may specialize or pursue additional certifications. Continuing education is often required to maintain the credential.

Autodesk Revit file: RVT is the file extension used by Autodesk Revit for project and family data within its Building Information Modeling (BIM) environment. RVT files store 3D geometry, views, schedules, annotations, and metadata used by architects, structural engineers, and MEP professionals to design, coordinate, and manage building projects. Revit supports linking and work sharing, allowing multiple users to collaborate on central models. RVT files can be large and are often used alongside linked files and families (RFA) or templates (RTE).

Other uses: Depending on the field, RVT may stand for other terms. Context is important to determine the intended meaning, but the two above are the primary references in professional and technical discourse.
