Ptuj

Ptuj is a town on the Drava River in northeastern Slovenia and the administrative center of the Municipality of Ptuj in the Drava Statistical Region. It is widely regarded as the oldest town in the country, with evidence of settlement dating back to ancient times. In Roman times, the site was the municipium of Poetovio, an important crossing and regional center.
