Kurentovanje
Kurentovanje is a traditional carnival celebration held annually in Slovenia, most famously in the town of Ptuj. The central figure of the festival is the Kurent, a creature characterized by its sheepskin costume, feathered or horned headdress, and cowbells attached to its belt. These bells are vigorously shaken to ward off winter and welcome spring. The Kurents typically appear in groups, visiting homes and public spaces to perform their ritualistic dance.
