Prägedies
Prägedies are minting dies used to imprint raised relief designs onto metal planchets in the production of coins, medals, and tokens. Each Prägedie is a hardened steel stamp bearing one side of a coin’s design, and a paired die carries the opposite side; together they strike the design into the metal when the planchet is pressed between them in a coining press.
