Primærprodukt

Primærprodukt refers to raw materials or primary goods that are extracted or harvested directly from natural resources. These products are typically the first step in a production chain and include commodities such as minerals, crude oil, natural gas, timber, fish, and agricultural crops like grains, cotton and lumber. In an economic context the term is most often used to denote the output of the primary sector of the economy, which provides the foundational inputs for secondary (manufacturing) and tertiary (services) activities.

The primary sector is historically associated with rural economies, but it also plays a crucial role in urban industrialization by supplying essential inputs for manufacturing and infrastructure development.
