Pretreatment

In environmental and wastewater engineering, pretreatment describes preparatory steps for industrial effluent before it enters municipal treatment systems or processes. Typical steps include screening to remove large solids, grit removal, equalization to balance flow, pH adjustment, and basic chemical dosing to prevent interference with downstream units.
