Predstavený
Predstavený is a Slovak term that derives from the verb predstaviť, meaning to present or introduce. In its base form it functions as an adjective in the past passive participle, and as a masculine noun meaning “the one who has been presented.” In religious contexts, predstavený has a specialized meaning: it denotes the head or superior of a religious community, and is often translated into English as abbott, abbess, or superior, depending on the tradition.
In the context of monastic and canonical orders, the predstavený is the person who governs the community.
