Predpoklady

Predpoklady, in Czech and Slovak usage, denote statements that are assumed to be true for the purposes of reasoning, modeling, or planning. They correspond to what in English is called assumptions or premises. Predpoklady define the boundary conditions under which arguments hold or models operate and may be explicit or implicit.

Predpoklady appear in several domains. In logical reasoning and mathematics, arguments rest on premises that are accepted as given. In research and methodology, predpoklady include choices about study design, measurement tools, and the form of the model. In statistics and data analysis, common predpoklady concern the properties of data, such as independence of observations, distributional form (for example, normality), and other conditions like linearity or homoscedasticity. In practical planning, predpoklady describe expected resources, timelines, and external factors that influence outcomes.

Evaluating predpoklady involves making them explicit, assessing their plausibility, and exploring the consequences if they prove false. This often includes sensitivity or scenario analysis to gauge robustness.
