Postidentity refers to a theoretical concept that suggests identity is not a fixed, stable, or inherent quality of an individual, but rather a fluid, dynamic, and performative construct. This perspective emerges from various philosophical and social theories, particularly those that question essentialist notions of selfhood. Instead of a singular, core identity that defines a person, postidentity posits that individuals are composed of multiple, sometimes contradictory, roles, affiliations, and expressions that can change over time and context.
