Postglacialt is not a recognized term in standard scientific usage. It appears to be a misspelling or neologism of postglacial. In most contexts, postglacial describes conditions and processes that follow the retreat of glaciers, particularly after the Last Glacial Maximum and during the Holocene, though regional timing varies.

Postglacial (the established term) refers to the interval and phenomena after glaciation. In geology and geography, it encompasses changes in topography and climate that occur as ice sheets retreat, meltwater reshapes landscapes, and coastlines respond to shifting water volumes. Key processes include glacioisostatic rebound (the rise of land as heavy ice is removed), shoreward and landward movements of sea level, and the deposition of glaciofluvial and lacustrine sediments that form moraines, outwash plains, and lake basins. Soil formation progresses from bare mineral surfaces to developed soils suitable for vegetation.

Ecologically, the postglacial period involves ecological succession from pioneer species to established plant communities. Vegetation shifts occur as climates warm and habitats expand, leading to changes in species distributions and biodiversity. Hydrology and soil development influence forest types, wetlands, and animal communities, with regional variations in timing and composition.

Humans often expanded into formerly glaciated regions during postglacial times, with migrations, localized adaptations, and, in some areas, the adoption of agriculture as climates stabilized. Archaeological and paleoenvironmental records help reconstruct these transitions.
