Postboil
Postboil refers to the phenomenon that can occur after a boil has resolved. A boil is a painful, pus-filled bump that forms under the skin, usually caused by a bacterial infection of a hair follicle. Once a boil has drained and the infection has cleared, a lingering tenderness or a small, hard lump may remain in the affected area. This is often referred to as postboil residue or a postboil nodule.
