Poslati

Poslati is a verb used in Croatian, Serbian, Bosnian, and Montenegrin to mean to send or dispatch. It is a perfective form built with the prefix po- added to the root slati (to send, imperfective). As a perfective verb, poslati conveys a single, completed action and is typically used when the emphasis is on the fact that something has been sent rather than on the process of sending.

In these languages, the infinitive poslati is used to form various tenses and moods, most notably the future and past tenses of the perfective aspect. The present tense of poslati is not ordinarily used to describe ongoing action; instead, future forms are common, such as poslatiću (I will send), poslaćeš (you will send), poslaće (he/she/it will send), and so on. Past actions are expressed with compounds like poslao sam (I sent), poslali smo (we sent), or poslala si (you sent), with gender and number agreeing accordingly.
