Portfóliókezelés, often translated as portfolio management, is the art and science of selecting and overseeing a group of investments that meet the long-term financial objectives and risk tolerance of a client. This client can be an individual, a group, or an institution. The primary goal of portfolio management is to maximize returns for a given level of risk or to minimize risk for a given level of return.

Based on this assessment, a strategic asset allocation is developed, which involves determining the proportion of assets to be invested in different asset classes like stocks, bonds, real estate, and cash.
