Poliklorált

Poliklorált refers to a group of chemical compounds characterized by the presence of multiple chlorine atoms bonded to a carbon framework. These substances are often organic molecules, meaning they contain carbon-hydrogen bonds, with chlorine atoms substituting some or all of the hydrogen atoms. The number and position of these chlorine atoms significantly influence the chemical and physical properties of the resulting compound.

Polychlorinated compounds can range from relatively simple molecules to complex polymers. Examples include polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), which were widely used as dielectric fluids and coolants in electrical equipment, and polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs) and polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs), often referred to as dioxins and furans, which are unintentional byproducts of combustion and industrial processes.
