Poehler

Poehler, Amy Meredith (born September 16, 1971), is an American actress, comedian, writer, producer, and director. She rose to prominence as a cast member of Saturday Night Live (SNL), contributing to sketches and routines and serving on the Weekend Update segment. Early in her career she became part of the improv scene, co-founding the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre (UCB) with fellow comedians, which helped launch many performers’ careers.

She is best known for her role as Leslie Knope on the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation (2009–2015), a performance that earned widespread critical praise and multiple award nominations. In film, Poehler has appeared in Mean Girls (2004) as Regina George, Wet Hot American Summer (2001), and Baby Mama (2008). She has also expanded into directing and producing, including the films Wine Country (2019) and Moxie (2021), the latter released on Netflix.

Beyond acting, Poehler has produced and written for television and film and has been involved in various philanthropic and advocacy efforts, particularly around women’s rights and equal opportunity. Personal life: she was married to actor Will Arnett from 2003 to 2016; they have two children. Poehler continues to work in entertainment, balancing acting with directing, producing, and mentoring within the comedy and independent film communities.
