PlessisRobinson
Plessis-Robinson is a commune in the southwestern suburbs of Paris, France, located in the Hauts-de-Seine department. It is situated about 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) from the center of Paris. The commune was formed in 1904 through the merger of the communes of Plessis-Piquet and Robinson. The name "Plessis" derives from the Old French word "plessis," meaning a fortified enclosure or a place surrounded by hedges, referring to a historical manor. The "Robinson" part of the name is associated with the popularization of the novel *Robinson Crusoe* by Daniel Defoe, with a local guinguette (a type of riverside tavern) named after the character becoming a popular spot in the 19th century.
The commune is characterized by a mix of residential areas, green spaces, and some commercial and industrial
