Plakinids
Plakinids are a phylum of marine invertebrates belonging to the kingdom Animalia. They are characterized by their flattened, plate-like bodies, typically measuring a few centimeters in length. Plakinids are sessile or slow-moving organisms that attach themselves to hard substrates such as rocks and shells in shallow to moderately deep waters. They are filter feeders, using cilia to create currents that draw microscopic food particles towards their mouths, which are located on the underside of their bodies.
The body of a plakinid is composed of a relatively simple organization, lacking true organs or tissues
Currently, only a few species of plakinids are known to science, making them a relatively obscure group
