Pikselitaulukosta

It refers to a digital representation of an image where the image is divided into a grid of individual picture elements, or pixels. Each pixel in the grid holds a specific color value, and together these pixels form the complete image.

This concept is fundamental to raster graphics, which is a common way of storing and displaying digital images. Unlike vector graphics, which use mathematical equations to define shapes and lines, raster graphics rely on this pixel-by-pixel structure. The resolution of a raster image is determined by the number of pixels it contains, often expressed as width by height (e.g., 1920x1080 pixels). A higher pixel count generally means a more detailed and clearer image, but also a larger file size.
