Pigmen

Pigmen are a fictional mob in the video game Minecraft. They are pig-like humanoids that inhabit the Nether, a fiery dimension introduced early in the game’s development. In modern versions the mob is commonly referred to as zombie piglin, with Pigmen remaining as a legacy term in game lore and community usage.

Appearance and habitat: They resemble tall humanoids with pig heads and pale yellowish skin, sometimes wearing gold accessories. They spawn in the Nether in groups, typically near fortresses and lava pools, and can appear at any time within that dimension. They are among the Nether’s most recognizable neutral-hostile inhabitants.

Behavior: They are neutral toward players by default. Attacking a pigman makes it aggressive and signals nearby pigmen to join the attack, often resulting in a group assault. They roam the Nether, and encounters are common in fortress areas.

Drops and legacy: Upon death, pigmen grant experience orbs; loot is version-dependent and can include gold-related items as part of the loot system. Since the Nether Update, the mob has generally been called zombie piglin in official materials, with Pigmen retained mainly in legacy references.
