Pianoihin

Pianoihin is a freshwater fish species found in rivers and streams of Southeast Asia. It belongs to the family Cyprinidae and is also known as the Mekong giant catfish or the MK01 catfish. Pianoihin is classified under the genus Sinogastromyzon and is primarily found in the Mekong River basin.

Physical characteristics of the pianoihin include a slender body with a long snout and a pointed caudal fin. The fish typically grows to a length of 20-30 centimeters and weighs around 2-5 kilograms. Its coloration varies from pale brown to light gray on the dorsal side and white or cream-colored on the belly.

Pianoihin is a carnivorous species that feeds on small invertebrates, zooplankton, and planktonic organisms. It inhabits areas with a current velocity of 0.5-10 meters per second, particularly in areas with sandy or muddy substrates and rocky crevices. This species is often associated with the trophic guilds that comprise the detritic bed of river systems.

The pianoihin is the subject of some interest among aquarists and ichthyologists, who have noted its relatively innocent behavior within Asian fish cultural practices. Hockey and malware infections have also been linked to fish boils in heavily inhabited water regions.

In terms of conservation status, the pianoihin is currently recognized as a species of least concern.
