The Philadelphia Phillies, commonly referred to as the Phillies, are an American professional baseball team based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member of the National League East division. Founded in 1883, they are one of the oldest continuous franchises in Major League Baseball. They play home games at Citizens Bank Park in South Philadelphia, since 2004. The team previously played at the Baker Bowl (1887–1938) and Veterans Stadium (1971–2003).
