Personoiduksi

Personoiduksi is a term used in Finnish discourse to describe the process or result of endowing a non-human entity with a human-like persona, effectively making it a personified form. The word is formed from the verb personoida (to personify) with the translative suffix -duksi, capturing the sense of becoming or existing as a personified entity.

In linguistic and literary analysis, personoiduksi is used to discuss how characters, creatures, or objects acquire life through narrative design. It covers aspects such as backstory, voice, behavior, and agency that give the entity recognizable human traits. The concept helps scholars compare different methods of personification across media, genres, and cultures, and to examine how audience perception is shaped by perceived personality.

In technology and human–computer interaction, personoiduksi often refers to the deliberate design of virtual agents, chatbots, or robotic systems to adopt a coherent persona. A personoiduksi design aims to improve user engagement, trust, and usability by providing a consistent voice, goals, and emotional cues. At the same time, it raises ethical considerations about transparency, the potential for deception, and the boundaries of impersonating human attributes.
