Etymology and scope: The term blends peptide with typically and is mainly used in pedagogical or speculative discussions. It is not an established entry in formal nomenclature but can appear in explanatory texts to avoid repetitive phrases such as “in most peptides” or “typical peptides.” Its value lies in signaling generalizability rather than universal certainty.

Typical usage and examples: Peptidestypically, peptide bonds form by condensation reactions producing amide linkages, and amino acids in natural peptides are predominantly in the L-configuration. The peptide backbone commonly adopts conformations that fall within the Ramachandran-allowed regions. In modeling contexts, peptidestypically used parameters may assume standard bond lengths, standard protonation states at physiological pH, and typical residue polarity.
