Pensionite is a rare mineral species composed of barium, iron, and aluminum silicates. It belongs to the bolivianite group of minerals and is characterized by its distinctive chemical formula, (Ba,Fe^2+)2Fe^3+6(Al,Fe^3+)3(Si2O7)2O2.

Pensionite was first discovered in 1915 in the state of Wisconsin, United States, in association with other minerals such as quartz and feldspar. The mineral was named after the local field research site, the Chesterbridge Pond locality, where it was first identified.
