Pelviste

Pelviste is a term used in the field of obstetrics to describe a condition where the baby's head is positioned in the pelvis in a way that makes delivery difficult. This can occur due to various factors, including the shape of the mother's pelvis, the size of the baby, or the baby's position. Pelviste can be classified into different types based on the position of the baby's head relative to the mother's pelvis:

1. Pelviste Occipito-Anterior (POA): The baby's head is positioned behind the mother's pubic symphysis, making delivery more challenging.

2. Pelviste Occipito-Posterior (POP): The baby's head is positioned in front of the mother's pubic symphysis, which can also complicate delivery.

3. Pelviste Occipito-Lateral (POL): The baby's head is positioned to one side of the mother's pubic symphysis, which can lead to difficulties in delivery.

Pelviste can be diagnosed through various methods, including ultrasound and physical examination. Treatment options may include monitoring the baby's position, using medications to induce labor, or in some cases, performing a cesarean section if the baby's position poses a risk to the mother or baby.
