Pelkistimiksi

Pelkistimiksi is a Finnish term that translates to "scarecrow" in English. Scarecrows are effigies, typically made to resemble a human, that are placed in agricultural fields to deter birds and other animals from eating or damaging crops. Traditionally, they were constructed from straw and old clothing, often mounted on a pole. The primary function of a pelkistimiksi is visual deterrence; birds, which can be a significant threat to harvests, are often wary of human-like figures.
