Peapööritamise

Peapööritamise, a phenomenon also known as vertigo, is a sensation of unsteadiness or a feeling that the surrounding environment is spinning or moving. This subjective experience can range from mild dizziness to severe disorientation. The sensation often arises from a disruption in the vestibular system, the part of the inner ear and brain that controls balance and spatial orientation. Common causes of peapööritamise include inner ear problems such as benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), Meniere's disease, and vestibular neuritis.

Other contributing factors can include neurological conditions like migraines or stroke, certain medications, head injuries, or even simple dehydration or anxiety. Peapööritamise can manifest with other symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting, nystagmus (involuntary eye movements), and difficulty walking. The duration and intensity of peapööritamise vary greatly depending on the underlying cause. Diagnosis typically involves a medical history, physical examination, and potentially specialized tests to assess the vestibular and auditory systems. Treatment strategies are aimed at addressing the root cause, which may involve specific maneuvers for BPPV, medications for inflammation or nausea, or lifestyle adjustments.
