Pattaya

Pattaya is a coastal city in Thailand, located on the eastern Gulf coast, about 150 kilometers southeast of Bangkok. It is a well-known tourist destination, particularly for its beaches, nightlife, and a wide range of activities. Historically, Pattaya was a quiet fishing village until the 1960s when it began to develop as a resort town, initially for American soldiers on leave during the Vietnam War.

The city is divided into several districts, each with its own character. Pattaya Beach is the most central and busy area, lined with hotels, restaurants, and shops. Jomtien Beach, to the south, is generally considered quieter and more family-oriented. Pratumnak Hill offers scenic viewpoints and more exclusive accommodation. Walking Street is famous for its vibrant nightlife, featuring numerous bars, clubs, and entertainment venues.

Beyond its beaches and nightlife, Pattaya offers attractions such as the Sanctuary of Truth, a magnificent wooden temple, Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden, and various water sports and recreational facilities. The city has undergone significant development over the years, aiming to diversify its tourism offerings and attract a broader range of visitors. Pattaya serves as a major economic hub for the Chonburi province, largely driven by its tourism industry.
