Particlesions
Particlesions are a proposed class of emergent excitations in theoretical models of strongly correlated materials. The term describes localized composite quasi-particles that arise when a mobile excitation interacts with a surrounding field, lattice distortion, or spin texture, effectively dressing the carrier into a bound state that propagates as a single unit. In these models, the particleion can carry quantum numbers that are redistributed between the itinerant particle and the background, leading to properties that differ from those of the bare particle.
