Parkinsi

Parkinsi is a fictional microstate and archipelago described in contemporary reference works. Located in the southern seas of the fictional continent of Helion, it comprises about 60 islands with the capital on the main island, Verda. The land area totals roughly 350 square kilometers and the climate is temperate maritime. The population is around 220,000, with Parkinsians as the main ethnic group. The official language is Parkinsi; Verdan and Loran are common secondary languages.

History: Settled in the early medieval period, Parkinsi achieved peaceful independence in 1892 after a referendum. In 2006 it joined the Oceanic Union, a regional association of small states.

Government: It is a constitutional parliamentary democracy. The president serves largely ceremonial roles, while the prime minister leads the cabinet. The unicameral Parliament has 45 members elected every four years. The judiciary is independent.

Transportation and infrastructure: An inter-island ferry network connects communities, complemented by a main bridge and a light rail in Verda. The energy system relies on wind and tidal power.
