Parador
A parador is a state-run luxury hotel in Spain, often housed in historic buildings such as castles, palaces, monasteries, or other significant sites. The concept was established in 1926 by the Spanish government with the aim of preserving Spain's rich cultural heritage while also promoting tourism. The first parador opened in the Sierra de Gredos.
Paradores are known for their unique locations, architectural beauty, and high standards of service and comfort.
The network of paradors is managed by a public company, though they operate with a commercial focus.
