Paperimuotoa is a Finnish term describing the physical, paper-based form of a document or piece of information, as opposed to its digital or electronic formats. The word combines paperi “paper” and muoto “form” and is used in administrative, archival, publishing, and records management contexts to distinguish materials presented on paper from those stored or accessed digitally.

In practice, paperimuotoa is contrasted with digital formats such as PDFs, web pages, or electronic records. While many organizations have digitized workflows, some documents are still produced or stored primarily on paper due to regulatory requirements, accessibility in low-connectivity areas, or user preference. Dual-format strategies—maintaining both paper and digital copies—are common in government, legal, and corporate settings.
