Pantonejärjestelmää, often referred to as the Pantone Matching System (PMS), is a proprietary color space used widely in printing and design. Developed by the Pantone company, it provides a standardized way to identify, communicate, and reproduce colors. Instead of relying on the CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) process, which mixes inks to create a broad spectrum of colors, Pantone uses a system of pre-mixed solid ink colors. Each color in the Pantone system is assigned a unique number or code, allowing designers and printers to ensure that a specific color appears consistently across different media and production processes.
